San Mark
came to
Alexandria
to preach the new faith . Soon , he gained the support of many people who sought peace and freedom that the new religion calls for . Shortly after that San Mark was chased under the mandate of Emperor Nero in 62 and he was assassinated . Since then and until the time of Emperor Trajan (early 2nd century) , Christians had had to hide their christianity for fear of persecution by the tyrant rulers .
